For Giselle.....

Do you see what I am saying?

If you are reading this and are not Giselle, you don't know what this is about. But don't worry about it. Do you see what I am saying though?

Actually, just want to make an observation that I can share with everyone. Do you notice how the one on the left is wearing a 'Rush' t-shirt? She wears the t-shirts, buys the records, doesn't listen to the lyrics though or if she does, forgot about the time the Solent Feminist Network stood outside Wiggle screaming their heads off. Lets have some appropriate Rush lyrics.....

"Witch Hunt"
The night is black
Without a moon
The air is thick and still
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torch lit hill

Features distorted in the flickering light
The faces are twisted and grotesque
Silent and stern in the sweltering night
The mob moves like demons possessed
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right
Confident their ways are best

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill

They say there are strangers who threaten us
In our immigrants and infidels
They say there is strangeness too dangerous
In our theaters and bookstore shelves
That those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves

Quick to judge
Quick to anger
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand...

  1. Ok not Giselle so no idea about the in joke but as we are mentioning Rush think my favourite lines are

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
    You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
    I will choose a path that's clear-
    I will choose Free Will.

And the first Rush album I discovered was Moving Pictures, wonder if the t-shirt has ever really listened to any of Rushs' lyrics.

  2. Phantom fears and kindness that can kill...........especially appropriate for our situation.

  3. Object and phantom fears do have a certain similarity.

  4. Have some respect.
With the humiliation of the Leeds campaign and Tower Hamlets consultation lost in the ether, SFN are virtually the last bastion of the Rad Fem values of lies, ignorance and bigotry.

  5. My latest on Tower Hamlets is that there may be a meeting in September, by which time of course the consultation will taken place almost a year prior. No result has been published to my knowledge either.

Things are not looking good for Object and it seems that their input to Levenson will be totally ignored as well. Their impending board meeting must surely consider the future of the organisation, its direction and funding.
